Two SPE fireballs: 06:60 mag -6 yellow with 2 second train (several times brighter than Venus when that planet got up to the same altitude) and at 09:01 mag -4 yellow with 2 second train (approximately same brightness as Venus).

The SPE's sometimes seem to have long lulls. The eight seen during the second hour were all seen during the 25 minutes 06:38-07:03 UT. It was 22 minutes later before I saw another SPE. I had not seen one SPE in the 25 minutes preceding 06:38.

Usual observing site 4 miles NE of Ames, Iowa
