news websites have reported this enthustically as a sensational fact,
there has been heavy opposition to the claim in the meteorite and impact
community.*) In particular the albedo of the object in the video (as
compared to the clouds) seems way too high, the lack of any recorded
signature of the inevitable fireball coming before the dropping of a
meteorite of such size is very bothersome and the probability of such an
in-flight detection is estimated to be extremely low. On the other hand
the Norwegian professional space community seems to generally support the
claim - which doesn't prove anything either, of course; the best of
scientists have been had in clever hoaxes. For which there isn't evidence
here either ...
