(meteorobs) Obs from Iowa

Adams Observatory at McFarland Park 4 miles NE of Ames, Iowa.  Long: 93 deg 34 min W; Lat 42 deg 05 min N; elevation 1,045 feet.

Not nearly as hazy as two previous nights when I didn't observe because the haze/smoke was too bad.  

No fireballs.  Last hour six SDA's.  During first half hour saw 4 Cap's and saw no more the rest of the night.  Brightest PER - 2; brightest SDA 0 mag.  

Shower meteors looked for: ANT; CAP; ERI; PAU; PER; SDA.
No ERI's of PAU's were seen.

02 Aug 2014 0345-0445 UT 63 deg F; dew pt 61 deg F; wind calm; clear with horizon haze; thin crescent Moon low in West during first half hour; average LM 5.3; facing ESE 50 deg; teff 1.0 hour.

02 Aug 2014 0700-0800 UT 60 deg F; dew pt 58 deg F; wind calm; clear with horizon haze; aver LM 5.3; facing E 50 deg (sky glow over Ames in SW getting brighter and annoying in far right FOV); teff 1.0 hour.
