(meteorobs) Perseids

Ditto, had a very decent couple of hours outside Edmonton despite the
moon-polluted skies. Quite a number of negative magnitude meteors, just as
Paul reports. I drove north and faced due north and buried myself in
shrubbery so thick I couldn't see my own shadow even when I waved. Only had
half the sky, but with the Moon and the city light dome in the other half I
didn't really want it anyway. I would up with 44 recordings in just over 2
hours, and likely 90% of them are meteors. I'll let you know further when I
transcribe the voice recording a little (a.k.a. "much") later.

Good night!

Bruce

If what I saw this morning is any indication, I highly recommend going out
tomorrow morning to watch the Perseids in spite of the Moon light. Not many
fireballs, but plenty of negative magnitude Perseids. Also several bright
Kappa Cygnids. I faced North and blocked the Moon with a black umbrella.
Because of the bright Moon light train durations were generally very brief.
Report later.

Hoping tonight will be as clear as last night.
