I was set up atop the Park's little observation tower, where the great herons and little raccoons could check up on me periodically - without getting too close. Winds had died down to 5-10 kts. from last night's roaring 15, and temperature was a mild 16C/61F (yes, cold for a Floridian :)). The Winter Milky Way at first was a magnificent sight. Almost sad to see the swirling myriads of mag. 5 and 6 stars disappear, as the jealous moon rose and climbed astride the sky. Highlight of the night was a -5 blue-green Geminid with a 1 s train. I'm still watching the show now, in bright moonlight, just for fun. What a glorious night...
