I went out to my usual site at McFarland Park 4 miles NE of Ames, IA. Sky conditions were similar to last night; clear but rather hazy. Ultimately conditions didn't get quite as bad, but still loosing dimmer SDA's in the haze. Facing SE to avoid most of sky glow over Ames In SW, yet still be able to distinguish meteors from southern showers. (If I had faced E or especially NE, average LM in FOV would have been several tenths better/darker, but then would have had more trouble distinguishing southern shower meteors.)
Best meteor of the night at 812 UT mag - 6 orange Perseid with train lasting 7 seconds - passed one degree S of Hamal; very nice! I saw no ERI's; only one PAU.
Forecasts for clear again tonight, but I think it rather likely that the haze will not go away.
