(meteorobs) Curved traces

I remember observing a bright Perseid meteor train with binoculars
that, although it had a straight path, had a train that looked somewhat
like this:

That actually looked more like a 3D cork screw, as if it had been in rapid
rotation with a tubular, but straight, trail geometry moments earlier.
