Hey Al, below is FYI. My own question is to confirm that you want “in” on chasing these suckers. I’m prepared to go a good long way if need be, (within reason). Are you limited by personal sked or other matters? 

 

There may be others in our group interested in this uhh, pursuit.  We may want to car pool or convoy. 

 

My own list of observing buddies always starts with you, thus this note. I just looked at the calendar and realized, holy moly, that’s a week tonight. Time to start getting it together.

  I've recently read the predicted shower on May 24 is also called the "May Camelopardalids". Is there an official three-letter designation for this shower, like "PER" for the Perseids? Or is the IMO waiting for confirmation that the meteors will appear at all? I'm mainly asking for reporting purposes. Thanks! Paul Z.
