Dear Thomas,
perhaps, this will not really be a reply to your question, but might be of interest for you.
A few months ago I've learnt about the MMT meteor survey (MMT stands for Multi-channel monitoring telescope) run by the Kazan State University in Russia. Here is their website, but unfortunately its English version is still "under development": http://astroguard.ru
>From the Russian text version I understand that they use their own observing software which is (maybe?) open source and should be accessible via github, but unfortunately a weblink to the github repository is also missing there. If you are intersted, you might directly contact them at the email address given in the English text version: mmt at astroguard.ru
There is also a technical data sheet written in Russian there, from which I read that the time resolution of the recording software is 0,1 sec (10 images per second).
Best regards
Sergei Schmalz

I am in the 30 day free trial period
of UFOCapture software. So far it
seems pretty good. I am using the analog video V2 version,
not the HD.
But what are the meteor capture options these days?
