(meteorobs) Orionids 10/21/15 - Mathias WVa

        Screech Owl Hill Observatory,  Mountain Meadows  
                 Mathias, West Virginia - October 21, 2015

We had excellent conditions last night to get two good hours of 
meteor observing in from 6:25-8:25 UT.  There was a surge of 
Orionid activity the 2nd session with 23 Orionids being observed.
However, their average brightness was only about 3.2 magnitude.

The big surprise was the good showing of medium-slow meteors 
from the Aries region.  I called them the Autumn Arietids (AAR). 
There were 12 seen during the two hours. The average brightness 
was around 3.4 magnitude  The location of the radiant was near: 
RA 2.3, Dec.+15 deg.  They may be the meteors that Gary Kronk 
mentioned on his website, Meteor Showers Online:
