In Eridani, form an isosceles triangle with the stars tau5 Eri and tau6 Eri, the galaxy forming the top of this triangle and pointing in the S-W direction. Galaxy of low dimension but presenting a very bright center and a small halo around. Similar to the most brilliant elliptic galaxies in Virgo. Visible with averted vision, the center of the galaxy is really bright and could easily confuse NGC 1395 with a weak star.
