Description:
Jupiter Nebula PN in Hydra - Mag 9 - RA 10 : 24.8 D -18 : 38 In the 27mm
Panoptic at 52x seen as a greenish orb about the size of Jupiter. Forms a
right triangle with two other stars, one red, one blue, probably around 10-11
magnitudes. With an O-III filter it glows vividly neon green, shows a faint
outer haze. Barlowing the 10.5mm pentax for 270x gives the best view
tonight. There are two parts, a bright inner ring, not circular, more oval
and flattened with cloudy peripheral circular layer. Only occasionally can I
see the inner star.
