Object(s): NGC 3242 (Ghost of Jupiter)
Category: Planetary nebula.
Class:
Constellation: Hya
Data: mag 8.8 size 40"x35"
Position: RA 10:25 DEC -18:38
Description:
This bright planetary nebula appeared in the eyepiece moving the telescope almost
2º south of the star Mu Hydrae. Using the 32mm eyepiece (31x) it can be easily
identificated as an unfocused star with a pale blue-green color. With 100x and UHC
filter an inner brighter zone is visible. Good view with 167x, but I can't see
much detail due to bad seeing.
