Description:
Faint stars (Uranometria shows just an open circle), but very condensed. A really good telescopic open cluster.

FromJan 6, 1997, at a suburban site: Dense open cluster that in binoculars and even through the telescope could easily be mistaken for a glob, except for the lack of a brighter centre
Using the 26mm plossl [55x] the bright star beta puppis is visible and it is best if this star is placed outside the field
Floods the field of the 12.5mm orthoscopic [112x]
Rate as a good cluster
