Your skills: Advanced (many years)
Date/time of observation: 14 Feb 2004
Location of site: Sangkhlaburi/Thailand (Lat +15, Elev 200m)
Site classification: Exurban
Sky darkness: 5 <Limiting magnitude>
Seeing: 5 <1-10 Seeing Scale (10 best)>
Moon presence: None - moon not in sky
Instrument: 15' f4.5 Obsession
Magnification: 342x
Filter(s):
Object(s): NGC 3750, NGC 3753, Copeland's Septet
Category: Group of galaxies.
Class:
Constellation: Leo
Data: mag 13.6 size
Position: RA 11:38 DEC +22:
Description:
3753 was the only galaxy that was quite easy to discern from the faint glow of
galaxies that were visible only with averted vision. At 342x I could make out 4-5
separate patches of extremely faint light but I could not locate or identify those
galaxies accurately. Copelands Septet is definitely within range of my 15-inch but it
needs much better athmospheric conditions than this time.
