Category: Globular cluster.
Class:
Constellation: Sgr
Data: mag 7.2 size 7.8'
Position: RA 17:50 DEC -37:
Description:
342x: Bright ball of light with a wide center. This very dense cluster
resolves into only a few stars. Diameter ~3'. Forms a nice pair with 3.2mag
star G Sco which is located just 4' E of the globular.
PNG 353.5-4.9 (12.1mag, 10" ?)
Symbiotic star. Very bright at 342x through the OIII filter. It looks somehow
elongated 5x9" size with a very bright core (star?). It's located approx 10"
east of a 12mag star and 20" south of a 13mag star. The use of the OIII does
substantially improve the view and helps to dim the glare of the nearby 3.2mag
star G Sco (1.2' SE of the PN). Difficult to find in the star rich environment.
