Position: RA 9hrs: DEC + 51:
Description:
Very visible if faint but easily found if identifying Talitha (Iota Ursae
Majoris) then slewing over and up a bit across from Theta Ursae Majoris. An
elongated smokey streak at x48, N-S, with no detail. At x76 you start to see
the brightness, especially w/ averted vision. There is the brighter bulge at
this point,S. Some view of the spacing between arms is seen to W of bulge.
The rest streaks N. Not much effect from Deep Sky Filter: just brings out
background light. At x153 not much more detail made out than at x76. No
sign of much symmetry.
