Hand Warmers for batteries

Kevin mentioned using the hand warmers where you mix those two chemicals
together.  The chemical kind I have are one shot deals, but they last a few
hours if I remember.  I also have on hand reusable hand warmers.  they don't
last long, but they are rechargeable by just boiling them in water for 5
minutes.  I have several on hand and have used them hundreds of times.
Perhaps their heat will be sufficient if kept wrapped for an hour or two?
