I think it takes 10-20 minutes of observing before the computer
monitor square is no longer visible.
In the early eighties I saw a meteor from the middle of Newport Beach
in late August or early September. It was night, and I was driving. I do not
know what the limiting magnitude of the sky was, but I would guess -1.5 +or-
2. The meteor was yellow. That is the color of the air there at that time of
year.
