On two occasions during the last 23 years I have heard a faint thunder sound that accompanied very impressive fireballs (or should I say bolides) that went to the treeline. These two objects were among the brightest I have ever seen, although I have seen a few fireballs of equal or greater brightness that never created a sound. Gary
