Thanks, Bob, for mentioning the possibility of visual observation of this radio
shower! I notice (now that I look closely), that the "best observed" time for
this radio shower for Northern observers at maximum starts as early as 6:00 a.m.
Should visual observers keep a serious look-out near dawn for one of these?

PS: I have a venerable old time cube, too. (Handed down by a father obsessed
with boating. :>) The broadcast NOAA reports seem to offer considerable detail
about sea-level visibility and marine conditions (both very important in New
England), but almost nothing about cloud cover. The only way I can ever tell
anything for sure from their reports is if they mention rain or high fog. :(
