The June Lyrids have a geocentric velocity of 31 km/s, so the meteors should be
anything but swift. They are comparable to the Taurids. Fastest meteors up to 15
deg/s (~3-4 on the NAMN scale) may be observed at 90 deg distance from the
radiant. But where is 90 deg distances when the radiant is close to the
zenith...? As the radiant passes the zenith the chances for accidentally
aligning sporadics is high.
