re: (meteorobs) July 11 Observations

Boy, these guys who complain about haze and humidity and have LM's better
than 6. Sheesh!
Just FYI, my observations were from 0500 to 0800 UT, so we actually
overlapped.
It should be fun to compare my hourly rates....at a crystal clear LM of
5.5!

To our surprise the skies cleared and George and I were able to observe
from his Descanso Observatory. I arrived shortly before 12:30 AM and
was able to squeeze in 4 hours of observing. Rates average 7 per hour
under less than best conditions (hazy and humid). 4 members of the July
Pegasid shower were seen plus 1 Sagittarid. The hour between 3:30 to 4:
30 was very slow with only 3 meteors been seen. The moon formed a nice
straight line with Aldebaran and Venus.
