Hi Jim, dead time is considered the time it takes you to record each meteor.
This will equal zero if you use a tape recorder while counting and there are
no problems with it. If using paper, you will have to determine this from
practice.

This is different from "Breaks" in which you get something to drink, eat,
etc. and quit observing temporarily.
