(meteorobs) July 15 Observations

-- [ From: Robert Lunsford * EMC.Ver #2.10P ] --

This 4 hour session was plagued by patchy altocumulus. Only the second
hour was cloudfree. I was facing north to verify George's early
Perseids plus to monitor a radiant near Delta Cephei that that been
active in mid-July for several years now.

A total of 10 Perseids were seen during the 4 hour watch. Six of these
were seen during hour number two. Three meteors with similar velocities
(medium) lined up with the Cepheid radiant. They are included in the
sporadic count. No Caps or Aquarids were noticed. Constant lightening
flashes from the desert were an annoyance.

End: 11:30 UT 71 F (21 C) 56% RELATIVE HUMIDITY

Even though there are towering cumulonimbus over the desert, there
presently is no trace of altocumulus. It appears tonight may better.
