Re: (meteorobs) plot describe count



As far as counting vs other methods of recording goes, surely it
makes sense to train beginners, from the outset, to record at least
the three basics for each meteor seen - Time, Type and Magnitude.
From this sort of data, counts/rates can be obtained as a matter of
course! This was one of the areas wherre I always thought the Halley
Watch instructions back in '85 were a bit vague - something along the
lines of "at the end of your watch, try to remember how many were
Orionids..." and so forth. If you record individual details straight
off, you don't have to "remember" anything - it's all there on the
page in front of you!
