(meteorobs) Ephemerides for Perseids
[To meteorobs: Wayne asked for ephemeride info for his observing site in New
Jersey for the Perseid max. Anybody else wishing similar info for their site,
for that or any other shower, let me know via private email! The tables are
fairly easy to gen with a freeware program by E. C. Downey called "xephem".]
Here they are! Note that because of a "feature" of xephem, morning times for a
given day are actually on the morning of that day, not the next day! So for
example on the first table, the "Transit Time" of the Perseid radiant is at 6:35
on the morning of Aug 10, not the morning of Aug 11! That's why 3 tables, not 2.
The objects are the Sun, Moon, six bright planets, the Perseid radiant ("Pe"),
and also Alpheratz, aka Alpha Andromedae ("AA"), which is a nicely placed 2nd
mag star (helps bridge that gap between Saturn and Uranus for comparison. ;>)
Perseid radiant positions are per IMO on each of the three days...
