I am re-posting as my AMS remarks may be misleading to those who are not
familiar with the group. Wayne and Lew, the AMS has never been an impediment
to me personally. As I mentioned, I have continued to work with the group. I
only have a difference of opinion with Dr. Meisel and the rest of their
officers on the direction they are taking, ie demoting visual observing to a
"secondary" status. IMHO, this is a mistake. Since I don't have any
influence on their direction, I have merely concentrated my work with groups
where it is more valuable. But I still send all my observations to AMS as I
would suggest others do also.

It has been my experience that all groups will have one or more members who
feel their group is the best or will be extremely vocal in supporting their
cause. I guess this is human nature, but I also hope this discussion will
increase more cooperation between everybody.
