Thats one of my two Dumb Beginner question - 

The NAMN guide suggests a 1 to 5 assignment. #1 I understand as visible for
several seconds, and 2 I would assume is about one sec +.  But what about 3
thru 5?  If I use the old "One Mississippi" as a second - how would I break
#'s 3 thru 5? 
Dumb Question 2. - While listening to the WWV for timings. How do you
determine where you are in the count?  Do you count the ticks until the voice
time check, and what happens if another meteor is spotted mid way thru the
count?  As I said I have the WWV in the background but usually resort to
looking at my watch anyway. Any advice?
