Thanks for mentioning this, Jim! My TimeCube looks like it is now on its last 
legs, and I've despaired of finding a replacement for it, after searching the 
stores and catalogs. The clock-slash-receiver sounds like it would be even 
better, if it could be powered in the field!

Another timing method I forgot to mention is the Global Positioning System 
(GPS). Supposedly, with a GPS receiver, you can not only pinpoint your latitude 
and longitude to some hundred meters accuracy (non-military GPS), but also get a 
delay-corrected time signal. Of course, these babies start at around $200, so I 
doubt I'll be running out to buy one soon... <grin>
