I just heard on the local news about a large fireball observed over
Southern-Mid California last night. I'm in PA, so I have no details re.
times, direction of travel, etc. Anybody out west see anything?<<

Hi George
I read a news wire report tonight about a bright
green streak that
was reported sighted by viewers as far apart as San Francisco and Los
Angeles. NASA says they don't know what it was, but it certainly sounds
like a particularly bright meteor.
Did you perhance hear or read anything about this? Did you happen to
see it?
The wire report was vague, but it sounds like the sighting was early
Thursday evening sometime.
                        Just wondering...

                        Hope all's well,

   John<<

I believe that same possible meteor was seen fragmenting over mid New
Mexico. Local witnesses in Albuquerque saw a large fireball fragmenting
and leaving a greenish trail. A helicopter was sent up to see if a plane
had actually crashed.

I'm not radio monitoring presently for fireballs but if I hear more on this
end I will let the meteorobs list know.
