(meteorobs) Radio detection of California meteor

Hello: 8 October 1996

I recorded the presence of the west coast meteor by radio. The chart
recording started at 01:49:30 and ended at 02:12:30 on 4 Octorber 1996. All
times and date are UT. This was the first fireball I have detected this way
and was the first time a pulse occurred on the chart that had a flat like
top, all others have sharp peaks. This method of recording meteors was not
the AMS radiometeor system but is something of a duplicated of Tom Ashcraft's
system. Tom has been my guide in setting it up. The chart recorder is
however piggey backing the signal from the NRD-525 receiver used by the AMS
system which is tuned to TV2.
