Hi Ron, (and everyone)

Were those news reports legitimate?

I had seen on the internet in USENET that a Professor Wasson had estimated
landfall for the large meteor that occured October 4 at about 0200 UTC
somewhere in California. But how could that be when the fireball was
tracked into New Mexico and passed over El Paso, Texas into Mexico? Maybe
a chunk fell off or something? Or maybe an optical illusion made it seem
like it made landfall in California?

Does anyone have the latest info on this Oct 3/4 fireball?

I heard that CNN had a report on meteors this past weekend on "SCIENCE and
TECHNOLOGY TODAY." Unfortunately I didn't see it but would love to hear if
anyone else did.

I wonder if there is there another active source of meteor info taking
place in North America? Is the North American IMO part of this list?

Any info appreciated,
