(meteorobs) Full Moon Meteorite Talk

In a message dated 96-10-27 10:15:22 EST, you write:

<< Any surviving meteorite fragments would probably have a fresh black matte
crust. If the meteorite struck something on the ground, part of the crust
might have chipped off to reveal a lighter interior. If anyone finds a
meteorite fragment weighing at least four ounces, he or she should get in
touch with Dr. John Wasson at UCLA. Wasson's e-mail address is
 wasson@igpp.ucladot edu. >>

Or you could send it to me ;)

If there are any meteorite collectors out there- look out. I just received
the latest price list from a reputable dealer. It seems that since the Life
on Mars Meteorite was detected prices have jumped astronomically. A piece of
Nakhla (from Egypt) was found to be a Mars rock was going for $150.00 per
gram. After the discovery...is everyone sitting down... $6000.00 a gram.
Remember it takes 28 grams to make 1 oz. !!
