(meteorobs) NAMN Meteorite Collectors
It is interesting to hear that several NMAN members are also meteorite
collectors. Of course, this isn't so surprising when one thinks about it.
After all, a meteorite was once a Fireball! However, unlike most meteors,
which are from comets, most meteorites are from asteroids.
With this in mind, I have a question to any meteorite collector who may
know the answer. Is it true that all meteorites, including the SNC type and
others are from asteroids or planets, but the cabonacous chondrites (sp?)
are the only ones thought to be from comets, like most meteors?
