(meteorobs) Leonids 21/22

To: imo-news, meteorobs, Peter, dms etc.
subject: Leonids are still there (21/22 data)

Hello everybody,

Clear skies last night, so I took the opportunity of the last night with a
moonless hour for some observations. The Leonids were still pretty active.
As were, by the way, the alpha Monocerotids, which seem an annual stream
indeed. I observed 7 of them, among these a nice +1 with short persistent
train.
All meteors have been plotted. The Leonid ZHR comes out rather high at 14.3
+- 4.1, but this is a.o. due to the observation of 4 ones within a short
timespan (poisson-distribution) near the end of the observational interval
which raise the statistics. Alpha Monocerotid ZHR 12.4 +- 4.7.
