re: (meteorobs) Time of maximum for meteor showers

Trond makes a good point...dot similar to my ensuring I do not know the exact
radiant position when plotting. I know the general area to get the right
maps to focus on, but I don't want to know precisely.
However, for the Geminids, that is a moot, and very wet point.:-(

Lottsa messages here recently from people who wants to know the
exact time of the Geminid max.

Now, what's really the purpose of knowing the predicted time for
a shower's maximum with an accuracy of a few hours? I know it's
"nice to know", but what the heck - the Geminids perform really
good for perhaps 30-50 hours anyway.

If you start observing with the bias that the maximum occurs
at, say 03 hours in the morning, you WANT to see more meteors
at this time, and then you WILL see more of'em. Dangerous...

All the best,
Trond
