(meteorobs) Geminid Summary: Dec 13/14

At last the weather cooperated and allowed me a good night/morning of
observing. I observed for about 9 hours beginning at 0100 hours UT (8:00 pm
local). The first hour had some cloud cover, which ranged from 5% to 15%.
The rest of the night was completely cloud-free.

I observed a total of 351 meteors from all sources. The breakdown on the
individual showers I monitored was:

XOR(11); MON(17); GEM(175); PUP(10); HYD(12); COM(7); SPO(119)

The Geminid HRs were: 6; 11; 32; 29; 29; 24; 22; 14; 8.

Geminid magnitude distribution was:  (-4)1; (-3)2; (-2)5; (-1)18; (0)29;
(+1)43; (+2)30; (+3)26; (+4)14; (+5)7; (+6)0        Mean = 1.34

The highest hourly rates (32) occured between 0300-0400 UT (10-11 pm local),
and from that point a slow decline toward dawn was noted.

The weather is still clear here for tonight, but I have been informed my
presence is required on a Christmas present shopping trip. So it may not be
till tomorrow that I can observe again.....
