  In todays (12/18) San Diego Newspaper is a blurb from Reuters:


                     GREEN FLASH MAY HAVE BEEN METEOR

     Seattle (Reuters) - A bright green flash seen in the predawn skies over
  much of the Pacific Northwest yesterday may have been a meteor, federal
  officials siad.  Dozens of people called the police and radio station
  from Salem, Oregon to the Canadian border area after the flash appeared in
  the sky at about 6:20am (Pacific Standard Time).  Two pilots in western
  Washington state reported they saw a "bright, fast-moving green object to
  the west of them," Federal Avaition Administration spokesman Mitch Barker
  said.
