Re: (meteorobs) On sleep, observing and circadian rhythms

Joseph, thanks for posting the additional information. But I do not
understand what you mean by this circadian rhythms (circadian is an insect,
isn't it? ;> ).

Seriously though, is this when you get what is considered your 'best' sleep
and only occurs for a few hours? From what I can gather from what you're
saying (and correct me if I am wrong), it would best if we could sleep
during these circadian times.(?) But if that is so, and meteor observers
aren't normally able to do that, why do I feel 'refreshed' when I wake up
ready to observe? One thing I have noticed though, is when I wake up at
midnight say after 5 hours sleep, I get sleepy quicker than when I wake up
at 5:00 am (my normal time) after the same 5 hours. Is that related to what
you are talking about?

One last question.....for those who find it difficult to get to sleep in the
evening that first night, how would over-the-counter sleep 'aids' figure in?

Thanks for the additional input to help a 'sleep newbie....'
