(meteorobs) Hale-Bopp 2-17-97

Yesterday morning I got a good look at Hale-Bopp. The only thing I can
add to the detailed reports reported by observers here is that there were
colors visible with 12x63 binoculars. The head was blue-white, with the
southern fountain standing out, and yellow-orange color in the tail. The
colors were subtle, like pastels. This is the most color I have ever seen
in a comet (of 54 seen). I anticipate that tthe color will become more
pronounced as it approaches perihelion.
