Not to nitpick, but a meteoroid is a small piece of space debris which can be the debris from a comet or asteroid. There is also lots of debate as to the connection between comets, asteroids, meteor showers and meteorites. I throw up Phaethon, the parent "asteroid"/dead comet for the Geminids as a prime example.
