(meteorobs) Meteor Shower parent bodies

The Scorpid-Sagittarid complex may be produced by a number of parent
objects---it's an ecliptical stream with large scatter in orbital elements.
Orbital evloution calculations of meteoroids ejected from Comet Lexell show that
not many of the particles can remain in the initial orbit due to perturbations
of Jupiter. So the chance that Lexell produces a distinct stream is small.

You mean the kappa-Cygnids? This is new to me.

>alpha Monocerotids	c Van Gent Peltier Diamana 1944 I
This is also a possibility, not being very probable.

>Pheonicids c Blancplain 1819 IV
This association is a result of some irritation of citations in the past. It is
simply wrong. The parent body is unknown. One used this comet to construct the
orbital elements of the Phoenicids under te assumption they are associated. And
later, astronomers were surprised that the orbital elements of Phoenicids and
Blanplain coincide well...what a surprise!
