I saw no evidence of the comet "self-destructing" when I looked Sunday
morning, other than the normal coma, jet, and tail. What makes you think it
is doing so???
By the way, on your question a while back "can a meteor shower hurt
you"....Spratt (1992) reported in the journal MERCURY that meteoroite
events cause property damage about once a year on average (I have not read
the original article yet), so if property can be damaged once a year, if
you're in the way you could be hurt!
