P/Tempel-Tuttle is expected to slightly exceed 10th magnitude during
January 1998. It will then be nearest Earth (about 0.34 AU) and about one
month prior to perihelion. I have already began to add details of the
upcoming apparition to my WWW site. Important historical info has been
there for about 6 months. The discovery details were posted on ths page
less than one hour after the announcement was made by the Central Bureau.
