(meteorobs) Hey! Where's My Ion Tail???
According to John West's update on Hale-Bopp stuff, posted at the
thoroughly wonderful and image-obese web site at
http://galileo.ivv.nasadot gov/comet (this is a mirror site of
the hard-to-get-into JPL site......)
......another observer, John Bortle perhaps, also noted a dearth of
ion tail...............

PS.....the wonders of nature strut their stuff as I was treated to a
close-up look at a pair of migrating Common Loons this morning....
Loons, comets, Red-breasted Mergansers...............................
