Joseph?? Yeah I'm still here. Been silent recently as I wiped out my
shoulder with a torn rotator cuff (motorcycle spill) and been very very busy
with work, new grants, more research etc etc.
Rancho Santa Fe is ~7 miles north of me. Been thru there many a time.
Their web site (http://mirage.hotwired.com/heavensgate) is kindda cool
Fanatic tho it may be, it makes for interesting reading. Nice web page
design with lots of images from HST. The media-hype is making the group
sound like WACO/Jim Jones-types when in fact they were very intellectual,
quiet keep-to-themselves types. The house they rented cost 10000 per month
so they mustve kept very busy JAVA programming!
Bottom line: Life is so very #^%# precious, I just cant see ending it
with the thought that I'll soon be riding a COMET out of the solar system
to some kind of Nirvana. I can wait for that, and meanwhile, be
absolutely inspired (while alive) simply watching phenomena such as the
GEMINIDS-96.
