Jonathan Asked:The Virginids are not over yet? According to Bob's ALPO
newsletter,
the shower lasted from 3/1 to 3/31! Who's right?

Well, Jonathan, the long answer is they both are.
The IMO groups ecliptic activity into The Virginids, which become the
Sagittarids on April 15th. Bob Lunsford At ALPO, prefers a more descriptive
terminology where they become the Librids, then the alpha-Scorpids.
It's all the same activity from the ecliptic, just with different names. If
you are reporting data to the NAMN and IMO, You should use the Virginids
until April 15th, then the Sagittarids. Bob also gets this data and files
it in the ALPO data base. I'll let him comment further later.
The bottom line, it's the same activity, with a different name.
