Hi Greg,
You've got the right occultation but the wrong star.  The star was
Aldebaran, the 'Eye of the Bull'.  Arcturus was also in the sky but in the
east rather than west.  They have similar colors but Arcturus is not
located on the ecliptic so it will never be occulted by the moon.  The
occultation was breathtaking, I watched it on my school's C14.
