Hi, John, you've certainly come to the right place! Your fireball (a.k.a. "big meteor") observation might actually be of scientific interest, if it can be combined with other reports to figure out sufficient information about that fireball. If you can, please report whatever details you can remember of the event to the International Meteor Organization. If you have Web access, they have a convenient Web form for you to use at:
